Divided Core

A divided core has separate ribbons or bundles of colour spaced around the centre, with clear glass gaps between them.

What to look for

  • Three and four-panel divided cores are the usual arrangement.
  • Even spacing and full-length ribbons are the quality signal.
  • Look for outer strand coverage — bare gaps read as a weaker example.
