Onionskin
Onionskins carry a dense layer of speckled colour spread just under the surface, giving a mottled skin over a clear or coloured base.
What to look for
- Even coverage across the whole sphere is the premium look.
- Mica flecks or lutz sparkle inside the skin raise interest sharply.
- Thin skin can show the base glass through — note it in the grade.
